Crossing of the border at a later hour is not possible, you then have to ride to the next regular border crossing point. Passport and horse pass have to be kept ready at all times! Rules for horse trafficMuch more easier since May 01, 2004skip For a border crossing with horses into a non EU member country (f.i. Hungary) very expensive laboratory tests were needed. Since May 01, 2004 when those countries became member states of the EU, things were getting much easier. Éach horse now needs its "passport", the so-called equestrian pass, which enables a clear identification of the horse.Next to this equestrian pass, which is also needed when leaving the home stable, a veterinary certificate will also be needed, which shows that the horse does not have any signs of illness. Blood tests will not be needed any more, which will be an enormous saving of time and money. Border crossing itself has to be done at the official border crossing points. |
