Dachstein West SKI LIFTS operating every day until Easter Monday!

Ski conditions are absolutely ideal here in the Dachstein West! There is already lots of snow, making it possible to ski right down into the valleys. More snow is forecast, and of course our snow canons are always at the ready!

Forthcoming event - the "Snow Extravaganza"

16th to 18th January 2009 in Gosau!

Gosau's annual "Balloon Week" takes place this year from 10th to 17th January, when 30 to 40 colourful hot air balloons will take to the skies against the magnificent back -drop of the Gosaukamm mountain range and the Dachstein.

The highlight of the week is undoubtedly the "Night of Hot Air Ballooning" held this year on 16th January. The event gets underway at the Hornspitz car park at 18.00, and there will be a spectacular fireworks display and party to celebrate this special event afterwards in the marquee.
This event also marks the start of the famous "Dachstein West Snow Extravaganza"! Special events have been organised for these three days, including lots of action on the ski slopes. 1000 pairs of carving skis of all different types will be available for you to try out. The most popular skis, whether they be one of the brands of "all-round ski" or the "Hermann Mayer style" will be announced by the end of the event.
