Welcome to Pinkafeld!

Situated near the river Pinka, Pinkafeld was founded by Charles the Great. Today the town is one of the most important centers in Burgenland. An extremely good infrastructure and shopping possibilities make your holiday a even better one.

Sights like the the "St. Peter and Paul Church" with a baroque altar-piece and an old font, or the church, which was built in 1748 on the Calvary. Around the village church some remarkable town houses and a Madonna-column are to be seen. The oldest building is the town hall with the museum and an old pillory.

The museum is worthwhile seeing but you can also enjoy the "Freizeitwelt Pinkafeld" with an all-weather pool, sports center and artificial ice rink.

Pinkafeld has always been a beautiful town. It has been voted the most beautiful flower town of the Burgenland several times and in 2001 Austria´s most beautiful flower town. That was the reason for the participation in the European flower show "Entente Florale" in 2002. After a few improvements (parks and ponds, Pinka river renaturalization, fassades, ...) Pinkafeld was the first town which won the gold medal and the competition itself at the first participation. The jury called Pinkafeld a "present for Europe". The idyllic ponds in the town park, the palace garden with its 100-year-old plane trees, the newly renovated main square and the wonderful flowers in the whole town - the traces of the Entente Florale can be seen everywhere.
