Austria´s oldest strawberry village!

Situated at the foot of the Rosaliengebirge mountains, surrounded by colorful meadows and luxuriant forests, Wiesen is one of Austria´s most beautiful villages. Interesting events and a wide range of leisure facilities ensure eventful holidays in this wonderful region.

Numerous hiking trails make for delightful and invigorating walks. Wiesen is Austria´s oldest "strawberry" village. The tradition of growing strawberries has changed little over the centuries and the tasty pinapple strawberries are the villages´ symbol. The annual highlight is the Pinnaple Village Fair with the election of the Miss Pinapple (9 days after Corpus Christi).

The Wiesen Jazz Festival is famous not only in Austria.

The Wiesen Jazz Festival isn´t only known throughout Austria; stars from all over the world came to Wiesen. With the second festival "Sunsplash" a bit of Woodstock atmosphere was brought to the Burgenland. Musicians and dancers from Africa and Latin America play and dance for two days from sunrise to sunset. "Forrest Glade" and other events offer great entertainment from May through October.
