The municipality Götzendorf an der Leitha comprises the smaller communities Pischelsdorf and Götzendorf/L. Both communities have been joined together for administrative reasons on the 1st of January, 1967, and are located in the fertile Vienna basin in between the capital town of Vienna and the Neusiedl lake on the northern border of the Leitha river in the southwestern corner of the admin. district Bruck an der Leitha in Lower Austria.
The municipality has an almost quadratic form of about 25 km² and reaches from the Leitha to the Fischa river. The area is furthermore crossed by the Reisenbach and the Fürbach. The agricultural structure has turned from a wood culture to a field culture. On the mainly flat country, you can easily recognize the higher elevation in form of the Reinspiegelberg in Pischelsdorf with a height of about 191 m.
Around 1800 inhabitants live here permanently. The climate is temperate, with an annual average temperature of 9.7 °C and an average sun shine time of about 2000 hours per year.
Götzendorf and Pischelsdorf were already known as holiday destination around 1920, where "Viennese vacationists" spent their holidays together with their kids.
