Neuhaus am Klausenbach
Welcome to Neuhaus am Klausenbach!
Neuhaus was first chartered in 1157 and became the status of a market municipality in 1478. It is the southernmost municipality of the province of Burgenland and is located at the country triangle Austria-Hungary-Slovenia in the trilateral Raab-Örseg-Goricko nature reserve. Marked hiking trails lead through the wooded area to the sights, the country triangle. The "Old Border" theme trail, that starts at the Schloss Tabor castle, deals with borders, the characteristic of the area. The "Apple Trail" leads to orchards and farmer´s where you can directly buy produce. The Neuhaus early wine parish fair is a big traditional harvest festival. Annually 3,000 - 4,000 visitors frequent the festival that takes place on the last Sunday in September.
The market municipality of Neuhaus am Klausenbach, that has been existing for more than 800 years, is surrounded by soft, rolling hills. It is located in the most southern parts of the province of Burgenland. The Burg Neuhaus castle ruins at the top of a volcano and the two parish churches remind of the eventful history of the place. The varied, natural landscape is home to a rich fauna and flora. The area´s mild climate is ideal for growing fruit, that is further processed to juices and first-class spirits. Contact - skip
