The Kuruzzen trail

This cycling and hiking trail leads from the Hügelkamm in Burgauberg (community center) past meadows, wine cellars, and the Lafnitz river to the Schloss Burgau castle. Visitors cannot only enjoy the beautiful landscape but also learn about the area´s historic past.

There are two attractions on the way: a Tschartake -a faithful copy of a border´s guard tower dating back to the time of the Kuruzzen (Hungarian revolutionaries) and a footbridge across the Lafnitz river.
