Almost 1000 years of age...
The fortress that is located on top of the former volcano amidst the idyllic Stremtal valley, is today a meeting place. Many festivities take place there - and everyone is welcome!

It features the impressive "400 years of art " exhibition, a gothic chapel, a museum, and a castle restaurant. The castle can be reached with a funicular! Already 500 years ago Güssing was a cultural center. Theater has been very important here. The Burgspiele festival is a fixed event of the cultural summer. It is framed by high-caliber concerts.
