Halbturn lies 40km east of Vienna near the Hungarian border. The climate near the Neusiedler See lake is ideal for wine growing.
The Baroque castle that was built in 1711 by Lucas von Hildebrandt is a tourist attraction. It used to be the hunting castle of the Habsurg family (www.schlosshalbturn.com). A varied cultural offer with exhibitions and concerts established the castle as a cultural spot in the Seewinkel region. Wine connoisseurs will love the Schlosskellerei cellar or the first-rate Ortsvinothek wine tavern. Neusiedler See Region
