The village of Lackendorf is located at the southern foothills of the Ödenburger Gebierge mountain range at an altitude of 292m.



The landscape offers ideal conditions for extensive cycling and hiking tours. At the edge of the village is the Kirchberg mountain, that is made of pure sand. On top of the mountain towers the beautiful parish church. High-quality quartz sand, that is used in all of Austria, is extracted here. Annually a summer festival takes place in one of the sand pits. The organic farmers of this agricultural villages have specialized in self marketing and dairy farming. They have become one of the most important milk producers of the province of Burgenland in the last 20 years. The open-minded farmers organize a milk street festival annually.
