Stubenberg am See
400,000 m² of water embedded in a soft hill landscape, castles, palaces, Baroque monasteries, Gothic pilgrimage churches and fortified churches, a mild, productive climate, fresh and clean air and deeply-rooted people: all that can be found in the village of Stubenberg am See. Travelers find numerous possibilities for hiking, sports, eating, and sight-seeing.
Stubenberg am See offers variety on a limited space: in summer a varied activity program for kids (guided tours on Schloß Herberstein castles, ghost nights on Burg Neuhaus castle, pirate treasure hunting, and a lot more) takes place. Evening concerts in the Renaissance arcade courtyard of Schloß Stubenberg castles are popular, so are visits to the open-air museum at the Kulm mountain or in the Herberstein castles and game park. The Schieleiten federal sports school is said to be the most important castle building of the Late Baroque period. Today it is setting for balloonist from all over the world. >
