The region Kamptal Manhartsberg is one of Europe´s richest in terms of history, recognised internationally by UNESCO as a "geo park". Millions of years of geological evolution as well as the history of Austria can be followed along the experience points of the "Geo park Culture park Kamptal" by means of an impressive variety of important buildings and works of art.

Time journey into the past

The Culture park Kamptal lies in one of the oldest continuously populated regions in Austria. On geographically highly interesting terrain.

Many decades of tireless research work brought traces and evidences of different eras to light. Therefore, sixteen municipalities of the Kamptal and the Manhartsberg are nowadays able to extensively document 1000 million years of geological history and 30,000 years of mankind history. Two "entrance gates" in the form of introductory exhibitions are the theme-focused start to this time journey. The nature-given beauties of fauna and flora in the nature park are the cultural goods and treasures of the region in the Culture park.
