Mariazell
Winter in Mariazell
Mariazell is located in the Alpine region of Northern Styria and has become Europe´s most famous center of Mariolatry. Magnus, a monk, brought a wooden Madonna statue from the Benedictine convent of St. Lambrecht to Mariazell. Mariazell was named after the small cell ("Zelle") this statue ("Maria") was placed in.
