Altenmarkt/Zauchensee offers a wide range of winter sports for everyone and every ability level: skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing on 200km of trails, tobogganing, ice-skating, horse trekking. Terrific ski runs and lifts, great boarding, rustic mountain huts.
Altenmarkt offers a varied winter vacation on and off the pistes. The naturally located, friendly village has maintained its traditions as well as its warmth and hospitality. It is the perfect destination for pure enjoyment and skiing fun. The small but sporty village of Zauchensee, located at 1,350m above sea level and counting 300 inhabitants and eleven hotels, is one of the winter resorts that never lack snow. In Zauchensee ski-in and ski-out convenience is only natural.

Facts and figures:Zauchensee is nestled at an elevation of 1,350 m in the heart of the "Salzburger Sportwelt" with a total of 270 ski lifts and 860 km of slopes. Enjoy skiing with virtually guaranteed snow from late November through early May! Zauchensee itself has 135 km of ski runs for recreational and elite athletes alike. 3 gondolas, 11 chair lifts and 7 T-bar lifts take skiers up the mountain. 4 ski schools offer qualified instruction. You can measure your speed on a race track.Close access to the A10 motorway, plenty of space in the new underground car park, free ski shuttles. Cross-country skiers will find a true paradise here in Altenmarkt: 220 km of well-groomed tracks make every skaters heart beat faster. The 8km long Olympia track is a true challenge for professionals as well. Different cross-country skiing techniques can be learned in the 1st Tauernlanglaufschule.
