Achensee Lake

Lake Achensee, with a surface of 6.8km², is Tirol’s biggest lake. Unlike many other bathing lakes all of it can be accessed for free. The lakeside beaches in Maurach, Eben and Pertisau are located on an altitude of 929m and offer perfect conditions for cooling-off in summer time. Moreover, the entire Achensee region is one of the most important recreation and sports areas. Gliders, surfers and kite surfers find perfect water and wind conditions on Lake Achensee. Divers also get their money’s worth: thanks to the excellent water quality divers enjoy an underwater-vision range of up to 10m. The famous Achensee Boat Cruises, which have become a fixed tourist attraction in the previous years, also provide for some change. You can also rent pedal boats or electric boats to glide across Lake Achensee.
