The city walls are about 300 years old; today’s well frequented Museum District housed stables and military facilities during the imperial era. This eatery is named after the “Glacis”, an open space in front of the historic City Museum; the inner city restaurant has been in existence since World War II. Nowadays, it implements a highly modern philosophy of dining, bringing a breath of fresh air to everything it touches, remodeling even classic Viennese cuisine.
Dishes such as vintage goulash are important components, along with butter-sautéed veal schnitzel and venerable boiled beef with its customary side dishes.
