Krems

The Caricature Museum of Krems occupies a unique role in the Austrian museum scene, presenting caricatures, pictorial satires and critical graphic work. It was built in accordance with plans by architect Gustav Peichl and has been a significant addition to the national museum landscape ever since 2001.

The Kunsthalle Krems is housed in a former tobacco factory from the 19th century which was adapted for contemporary purposes. The focal point of its exhibitions is art of the 20th and 21st centuries. In addition, the Kunsthalle annexes, the Forum Frohner, the Factory and the Kunstraum Stein draw inspiration and vitality from the programs at the main museum.

A two-hour Art Mile Hike enables visitors to obtain and savour new insights of the multi-faceted art and culture scenery of the Art Mile Krems. Along the course of the stroll, five different exhibition houses are introduced, with their current exhibition programs.
