Every summer the Salzburger Festspiele dominates the Baroque city of Salzburg. Some of the great artists of classical music appear on the stage of the Festspielhaus, and international stars like Anna Netrebko, Ricardo Muti and Edita Gruberova have become regulars here.

In the splendid ambience of Salzburg and its Domplatz, thousands of performers demonstrate the harrowing story of the life and death of the rich man in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's "Everyman", staged here annually since the beginning of the festival in 1920. Visitors can also experience contemporary theatre on Hallein's Perner Island, in the middle of the Salzach River.

At the end of Salzburg Festival 2014 the third Salzburg Festival Ball takes place. The evening begins with a gala dinner in the Prince-Archbishop’s Residence and moves then on to the Felsenreitschule.

The opening ceremony danced by the young couples, the festive concert with great stars and also the unique setting of the Baroque arcades hewn into the rock of the Mönchsberg create the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable ball.
