In the splendid ambience of Salzburg and its Domplatz, thousands of performers demonstrate the harrowing story of the life and death of the rich man in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's "Everyman", staged here annually since the beginning of the festival in 1920. Visitors can also experience contemporary theatre on Hallein's Perner Island, in the middle of the Salzach River.
This year for the very first time, another highlight will take place - the Salzburg Festival Ball.
The evening begins with a gala dinner in the Prince-Archbishop’s Residence and moves then on to the Felsenreitschule.
The opening ceremony danced by the young couples, the festive concert with great stars and also the unique setting of the Baroque arcades hewn into the rock of the Mönchsberg create the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable ball.
