Mysteriously hidden in the wild and romantic landscape of the Feistritzklamm is located one of Austria’s most famous castles: Castle Herberstein
Built during three epochs – Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque – the castle tells an interesting story of more than 700 years of Styrian history and aristocratic family tradition. Thanks to the enclosed wildlife park the castle developed into a major tourist attraction. An additional highlight is the new historic garden, today a garden of temperaments with a green, white, yellow and blue garden complemented with a morning, noon, afternoon and evening garden.
Two museums complete the offering: The museum with sculptures of Bruno Gironcoli, one of Austria’s most famous artists of the present as well as the “Kunsthaus” (art house) in which international artists are represented. www.herberstein.co.atwww.gironcoli-museum.com
