The only thing ‘wild’ about the Wilder Mann is, perhaps, what happens in the kitchen during the season of ‘wild game’. This snuggly old country inn has been popular for centuries for travellers and guests from far and near alike.
The restaurant itself is simply breathtakingly, cozily beautiful, located on a “sun terrace” hillside site above Innsbruck and building upon traditions of hospitality which go back for centuries. In the 16th century, this “resting place” was already a popular stopover on the trade route to the south.
Today, the house is run in true, hands-on Tyrolean fashion, supplemented by a smart, small country hotel, and is one of Tirol’s top addresses. Regulars, celebrities and travellers treasure the down-home quality of the traditional Tyrolean dishes from wine soup to calf’s liver, in which many products from the restaurant’s own farm are used. www.wildermann-lans.at
