Gourmets and connoisseurs alike make a pilgrimage to the tiny village of Schützen from far distant lands and never regret the effort. Self-taught Walter Eselböck displays a pannonian-inspired repertoire at an awesome level of quality which never ceases to amaze guests with exciting new culinary facets which he brings to light. Whenever required, ingredients are brought in from afar - truffles, pigeons, etc - if it serves to refine the final creation. The dining culture and service raffinesse in this beautiful restaurant are also exquisite, and ratchet up your enjoyment to untold heights.

At the bistro next door, it is far more down to earth, of course. In laid back atmosphere, you can savour light delicacies and ever-varying hot dishes, and have the selfsame wine cellar to order from. Numerous specialties can be purchased and taken home with you, which rounds out the offerings to perfection. And since many guests travel from afar to enjoy this temple, there are extremely comfortable country house rooms to stay overnight in.
