Launch of Austria Expert Program to co-incide with further growth to the Heart of Europe

The Austrian National Tourist Office is pleased to announce the launch of its Austria Expert Program, a new online training tool, created and designed for travel agents downunder. Gain inside knowledge on Austria’s cities, provinces & culture by simply logging on to www.austria.info/au/aep and following the easy steps from Module 1 to Module 4! Travel agents are asked to bookmark the page and use this tool as a quick reference guide to the most favourite destinations for Australian travellers such as Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Graz and the Arlberg ski region. It is designed as a modern tool for agents to use at their own pace and choice of time and does not include accreditation but serves as an open learning instrument for agents interested in the destination.

Astrid Mulholland-Licht, Director of the Austrian National Tourist Office says the launch of the Austria Expert Program co-incides with further growth to the destination: “Austria has experienced a great year 2010 from the Australian market with an increase of around 11 % in both arrivals and overnights. We can see this positive trend continue in 2011 as all signs are pointing to further growth from downunder. The strong Australian Dollar certainly helps to make a trip to Austria a great proposition”.

The Austria Expert Program does not replace the “Austrian Certified Travel Specialist Program”, the longest running preferred agents program in Australia established by ANTO back in the 90ies, but serves as a tool open to all members of the industry wanting to increase their knowledge in a quick and easy-access fashion.
