“The White Ring” – The longest ski race in the world

Ski races have a long tradition at the Arlberg, but this is without a doubt one of the most spectacular races during the winter season.

The “White Ring” in Lech/Zürs on 18 January 2014 represents a spectacular race of a different kind. Up to 1,000 participants will assemble at an altitude of 2,337 on the Rüfikopf for the mass start. 22 kilometres of pistes and a difference in altitude of 5,500 metres lie before them.

When Olympic and World Champion Patrick Ortlieb declared the inaugural white ring race in 2006 nobody suspected how this race would evolve into an historic and cult event.

To warm up, the White Party - offering a fantastic entertainment programme - will be held on the eve of the race, while the White Night will be celebrated in various nightclubs in Lech and Zürs on the night after the race.
