On New Year’s Eve the Hofburg Vienna is set to host the 40th Imperial Ball (Kaiserball). This year's event will draw 2,500 guests from all over the world and welcome its 100,000th visitor. The ball will be held under the banner of "The Gipsy Baron" to mark the 125th anniversary of the premiere of Johann Strauss' operetta masterpiece.
