A valley to suit everyone’s needs. With 250 peaks above 3000 metres the majestic Ötz Valley offers all you need for a premium summer holiday. One of Europe’s most unique outdoor adventure playgrounds, Area47, offers the ultimate in climbing, canyoning, rafting, watersports and more. Keeping with the water theme, the Ötz Valley is also home to the luxurious AquaDome, providing relaxation in the thermal baths, as well as the Stuibenfall, Tirol’s highest waterfall, and the idyllic Lake Piburg, which makes a stunning location for a dip in the lake. With a head for heights, the viewing platfrom on top of the Tiefenbach glacier is worth a visit in summer just for the snowcapped mountains.
Aqua Dome and Piburger Lake
The healing power of water can be enjoyed in the Aqua Dome spa in Längenfeld. The spa also includes adventure and children’s pools which makes the visit worthwhile for the whole family. A true jewel of nature is the Piburg Lake near Ötz. Guests can either relax while fishing or simply enjoy the water during a swim. The lake is one of Tirol’s warmest swimming lakes.
- Jump from bridges in the AREA 47
The newly established AREA 47 at the start of the Ötz Valley is said to be the ultimate outdoor playground. Together with its unique water area and the many special events this playground is indeed one-of-a-kind. The outdoor El Dorado re-opens for its second summer season this year.
- The Ötzi-Village
The Ötzi-Village in Umhausen, an open-air archaeological park, exhibits the way Ötzi and his contemporaries lived, worked, hunted, made fire, cooked and dressed. Parts of this ancient lifestyle can still be found today among the mountain farmers above Vent and Hochgurgl.
- Ötz Valley water games, Stuibenfall
One of the wildest waters of the Ötz Valley is the Stuibenfall. It is Tyrol’s highest waterfall with 159 metres. Visitors can experience the full strength of the waterfall by either walking up the path with viewing platforms or climbing the fixed rope route. For those who like adventures in the water, the Ötz Valley and its surrounding places offer rafting, kayaking and canyoning along the Ötz Valley River, the Inn River and the gorge in Imst. more details on www.oetztal.com
