“Get ready to rock and roll!” – there’s no better way to describe the Alpine Coaster in Imst. A ride on the longest alpine roller coaster in the world is a family-friendly attraction that thrills both young and old.

The motto of the Alpine Coaster in Imst is: think big and fast! 3.5 kilometers long, packed with power and fun, make it the longest alpine roller coaster in the world. It is spectacular right from the start: at 1,500 meters above sea level coaster “pilots” get ready to take off. A final look over to the Untermarkter Alm, the brake lever pressed down slightly, and it’s downhill all the way, namely 500 meters in elevation! However, your pulse rate and spirits are on the rise. It’s no wonder on a route like this: bushes and meadows whoosh by on the left and right and you are surrounded by lush green countryside. The tracks of the roller coaster, up to six meters high, wind their way down the mountain.

Surprises all the way
The first few surprises are experienced just after a few meters. Quick turns take breathless guests by surprise. The coaster maneuvers one 90° bend after another. The Alpine Coaster has 70 of these extreme turns in store for riders. And there’s even more fun to be had. The jumps, in particular, are fantastic. During the drop from six to one meter you won’t be able to suppress your feeling of “wow!” And to top it all off, the Coaster rides over waves which make you feel like you’re riding in a motor boat. One thing becomes clear after the first few minutes of this 12-minute ride – the Alpine Coaster is great fun, no matter whether you’re 6 or 66!

The panorama is also incredible. What a terrific combination - enjoying the beautiful countryside and spectacular action on Imst’s roller coaster. At the end of the ride someone asks about taking a second ride. Mom would say, once is enough. We say the fun has just begun! And here’s some great news for winter-lovers – the Alpine Coaster is also open during the colder time of the year.

Alpine huts and the great outdoors
All around the Alpine Coaster there are lots of great alpine huts that serve food and drink to hungry hikers and roller coaster riders. In Hoch-Imst inns also welcome guests after the ride. Imst itself is the perfect romantic spot for nature-lovers. Moreover, fans of spectacular types of sports will be thrilled with its offer: rafting, canyoning, endless mountain bike tours and paradise for climbers make this little town a delight for outdoor enthusiasts.
