Pedestrians dancing furiously, city hikers on urban discovery tours, energy-laden popular productions, phenomenal theatre of masks beyond all physical limits, puppet shows that make us marvel, thrilling productions for kids, and unusual encounters in streetcars and on trains.
The spectacular events of La Strada's early years gave way to stories about
Graz and its inhabitants.
In 2010
La Strada Street Theatre Festival focused on the different faces of the city and its people, their awareness of life and vital energy. Productions such as "Figures Libres" or "Faces & Places" showed people in various different life and work situations: musicians, entrepreneurs, pupils, young people, working people and pensioners.
La Strada 2010 also talked about urban development. With venues such as Oeverseepark, Augarten and the Annenstrasse district, the festival guided people to places which they would otherwise not have been able to use without disturbing local residents. Motto: To establish a circus at Overseepark might only be a small step in urban development, however if it leads to a different perception of the place, it is a major one.
We already look forward to La Strada 2012 and the surprises it will bring!
