"Trapp-ed" in Austria!
The Austro-American actress and singer Elisabeth-Joe Harriet will accompany the singing Nimmervoll family to historic filming locations across the Salzkammergut.
Sites include Nonnberg near Salzburg, where the “real” marriage of Maria and Baron Trapp took place, to Mondsee - the location of the wedding in the film and to the panoramic meadow.
The musical is based on a true story: Novice Maria Kutschera was sent by the Nonnberg Convent to the widowed Baron Georg Ritter von Trapp in orderto look after his household and seven children. She falls in love with the baron and marries him. For political reasons, the family emigrated to the USA in 1938, where they started a career based on their musical roots in the Salzkammergut and in Salzburg province. The youngest member of the Trapp family is now 70 years old. With the Trapp family in the Weisses Rössl Hotel from Monday 26th - Friday 30th October 2009.
