Castle Herberstein

Mysteriously hidden in the wild and romantic landscape of the Feistritzklamm is one of Austria’s most famous castles: Castle Herberstein

Herberstein

Built during three epochs – Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque – the castle tells an interesting story of more than 700 years of Styrian history and aristocratic family tradition. Thanks to the enclosed wildlife park the castle has developed into a major tourist attraction. An additional highlight is the new historic garden, a garden of temperaments, with green, white, yellow and blue areas complemented by a morning, noon, afternoon and evening garden.
Two museums complete your stay: The museum with sculptures of Bruno Gironcoli, one of Austria’s most famous contemporary artists, as well as the “Kunsthaus” (art house) in which international artists are represented.
