Ice-skating in winter, golfing in spring, lake swimming in summer, and hiking in the autumn - there are very few hotels that offer as much variety as Ebner's Waldhof. This is, of course, in part due to the hotel's peerless location directly on Lake Fuschl. Guests can relax on the private beach or take the "Fischerin", the hotel's own flat-bottomed boat, across the lake to the Fuschl Palace Fishery. On colder days, one can enjoy a stroll on the idyllic Lakeside Hiking Path or a few holes at the Waldhof Golf Club, located by the Hotelalm, high above the four-kilometre-long and 900-metre-wide Alpine lake. And if the weather does not permit any outdoor activities at all, there is still the enormous wellness area in the 4-star Superior hotel, with an indoor pool, white-water stream, waterfall, underwater jets, underwater music, and six different saunas. By the way, guests should not miss Austria's first Herb Kitchen, offering soothing herbal baths with water made through the steam distillation of local plants. But there is more cooking here than just the water of the 4,000-square-metre wellness area: the hotel also features three outstanding restaurants. One can choose from traditional Austrian specialities, light and healthy dishes, or gourmet creations that have been awarded a coveted toque from the Gault Millau restaurant guide.
