Mole West on Lake Neusiedl
One of our Terrific Tips

Those looking for tranquility will find it in Austria’s easternmost province of Burgenland. Spend restful hours by Lake Neusiedl at the stylish Mole West.

The largest steppe lake in Europe extends as far as Hungary. So there’s good reason why Lake Neusiedl is also known as the “Sea of the Viennese”. At the same time, the vast waters are so shallow that you could walk across the lake and never go out of your depth. As the evening sun bathes everything in rosy light, there’s no more attractive place to let your thoughts drift. Best still, with a cool glass of wine on the terrace at Mole West.
