Every year at the end of November music-lovers gather in Vienna for a very special event:  the Vienna Song Writing Association’s Blue Bird Festival.

A three day programme of events features contemporary forms of song writing such as anti-folk, weird-folk and Americana, and exclusive concerts take place in various venues around the city.

The roots of the Blue Bird Festival lies in the local singer / songwriter scene which has exploded in the last few years and produced musical stars such as Marilies Jagsch, Tini Trampler, Ernst Molden and Clara Luzia.

The festival programme is hugely varied, but always of extremely high quality and is an opportunity to sample everything from neo-folk to experimental electronic sounds.
