Several lakes serve as backdrop for regional festivals in Lower Austria. Take Lunzer See, for example, which hosts the annual "Wellenklänge". Or the Herrensee and its "Schrammel.Klang.Festival".
The Lunzer See provides wonderful natural scenery for the annual Wellenklänge festival
Lunzer See
Quiet forests surround the romantic
Lunzer See, which is the
largest lake in
Lower Austria. Daredevils can take up the challenge of the diving tower in the swimming area, while those who have a more leisurely day in mind can stroll around the entire lake on foot, or circle it in a rented boat. Right next to the beach is a shell-shaped stage where the
Wellenklänge festival is held every year.
And all year round there is a
wonderful lakeside restaurant with a terrace and view out over the lake.

Herrensee
The Herrensee is
one of the largest lakes in the
Waldviertel. In Litschau you will find a swimming area, playgrounds, outdoor pool, beach volleyball, boat rentals and a restaurant. And once a year the Herrensee plays host to the
Schrammel.Klang.Festival.
