Airport transfers

Once you have arrived at one of Austria's airports there is a quick and comfortable way get to your final destination.

Vienna

Nearest airports: Vienna Airport, Bratislava (Slovakia)

Trains

When you arrive at Vienna Airport, there are a number of different ways to travel into the capital or to head out further afield by train. You can take the ÖBB Railjet train from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) in 15 minutes, or the S7 fast train to Wien-Mitte (city centre) in 37 minutes. At Vienna Hauptbahnhof you can get connections on to Klagenfurt, St. Pölten, Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Bregenz and Graz. Alternatively, take the City Airport Train (CAT) from the airport. This speeds you from the airport to the city centre in 16 minutes.

You can catch a Vienna Airport Lines bus from outside the airport to 14 stops in the city every day, every half hour. 

Taxis

If you need a taxi or limousine service, it's wise to only use the taxi rank directly in front of the arrivals hall, or the "City Transfer" counter in the arrivals hall. You can take a Taxi 31300 or 40100 from the airport to any address in Vienna for the fixed fee of € 36.

Graz

Nearest airport: Flughafen Graz

Trains

Trains operate hourly between the Graz Airport train terminal and Graz Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station), taking approximately 11 minutes.

Buses

Bus lines 630 and 631 also serve the airport, and the bus stop is right outside the passenger terminal next to Arrivals. They transport you from the aiport to Graz Hauptbahnhof, Jakominiplatz and Griesplatz, and cost 2.20 Euros for a one-way trip. Luggage trolleys are available at the bus stop.

Taxis

There is a taxi rank in front of the airport terminal, and a ride to the city centre costs approximately €15. 24-hour Shuttle services are also available, taking you from the airport to Carinthia and all over Styria, and elsewhere at request.

Innsbruck

Nearest airports: Innsbruck Airport and Munich (Germany)

Trains and Buses

It is easy to access Innsbruck Airport by public transport. Bus F leaves from outside the main airport, and takes you to Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof (Central Train Station) every 10 minutes. The journey time is around 20 minutes and the price is €2.90 for a one-way ticket.

There is a taxi rank right in front of the airport terminal, and a ride to the city centre costs approximately €15, and a list of prices to other destinations is provided by Innsbruck Airport. Airport transfers can also be booked in advance, and many hotels/accommodation in the area can help book your transfer in advance, or you can arrange yourself. Linz

Nearest airport: Blue Danube Airport Linz

Trains and buses

The airport transfer bus (no. 601) links the airport with Linz city centre. The journey time is around 22 minutes, and a single ticket costs €3.20. There is a free shuttle bus (with valid flight ticket) back to the airport from Hörsching train station (you'll need to show a valid train ticket) between 5pm and 10pm, which takes about 3 minutes.

There is a taxi rank in front of the airport terminal. A ride to the train station costs around €29, €35 to the city centre and €48 to the centre of Wels or Wels Train Station. A list of taxi operators is also available, allowing you to book your taxi journey in advance of your arrival.

Salzburg

Trains and buses

Public buses go at regular intervals between the airport, Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station), Salzburg city centre, and also other popular holiday destinations such as Zell am See, Maishofen, Saalfelden, Weißbach, St. Martin, Unken, Bad Reichenhall and Wals.

Bus 2 goes daily every 10/20 minutes between the airport and Salzburg Hauptbahnhof in about 20 minutes. Bus 10 goes daily every 10 minutes from the airport via the city centre to Salzburg-Sam and Bus 27 every 15/20 minutes via Wals/Viehhausen to the railway station, taking about 40 minutes. Single tickets cost €2.50 and are available from the "Newscorner" in the airport terminal, at the machine at the bus stop or from the driver.

Taxis

There is a taxi stand directly outside the airport terminal, and it takes about 15 - 20 minutes to reach the Central Train Station. Taxis cost around €15. A list of taxi and shuttle services is also available, so you can book your journey in advance of your flight.

Klagenfurt

Trains and buses

There is a bus stop right outside the arrivals hall, the the number 42 bus operates regularly between the airport and Klagenfurt Hauptbahnhof (Central Train Station) with the journey taking about 30 minutes.

Taxis

There is a taxi rank in front of the terminal at Klagenfurt Airport and a ride to Klagenfurt city centre costs €16. You can prebook taxis from a list on Klagenfurt Airport's website.
