Offer information

On the banks of the Danube lies a European Capital of Culture that tempts you with creativity and flair. A visit to Linz changes perspectives and refreshes the mind. A popular pastime is a ride along the Danube Cycle Path or a ramble along the walking trails, uncovering cultural and culinary treasures on the way.

When darkness descends, it only helps to enhance the luminous facades of the Lentos Modern Art Museum and the Ars Electronica Center, both structures reflected gloriously in the nighttime water. By day, there is always lots on within the arts programme. The annual Linzer Klangwolken (Clouds of Sound) is an internationally renowned festival during which laser and light effects make their presence known on the water canvas in the Donaupark, accompanied by mesmerising sound. Melodies float above the water at riverside concerts and festivals, and along the route of emperors and kings, cyclists and hikers.

As the Danube flows, so does the dynamic cultural scene in Linz, embracing the future. Opera lovers shouldn't miss a performance at the Musiktheater Linz. And don't forget to treat yourself to a slice of Linzer Torte, a true culinary specialty, at a café in the old town or a restaurant overlooking the river.
