Salzburg Airport

Linz Airport is also known as the Blue Danube Airport. It is situated centrally in the wider area of the Upper Austrian capital and can easily be reached from all directions.

Klagenfurt Airport

Klagenfurt Airport is Carinthia's international airport, located 2.8 kilometres north of the city centre of Klagenfurt. The airport is accessible by shuttle bus or city bus from Klagenfurt central station.

Innsbruck Airport

Innsbruck Kranebitten Airport is the largest airport in Tyrol and handles both regional and international flights. Only a short distance to Innsbruck central station, you can reach the city centre by bus in under 20 minutes.

Graz Airport

Graz Airport is located in the municipalities of Feldkirchen and Kalsdorf, 9.3 kilometres south of Graz city centre. The airport is within walking distance of Flughafen Graz-Feldkirchen railway station, and travel from Graz main station only takes aboout 12 minutes by regional train.

The alpine dairymaid is a profession that may seem outdated but in fact this romance-laced role is alive and well in Austrian society. The dairymaid of the 21st century may not wear a Dirndl but she (or he) still knows the art of butter and cheese making. High Up, Way Down

Up at 3200 metres, the air is thinner and the view is even better. From high atop these pretty peaks, the 360-degree panorama takes your breath away. At some of the choicest spots in the Austrian Alps, thrilling panorama platforms have been erected to offer visitors the vista of a lifetime – a perspective ordinarily available only to high-alpine mountaineers.

Draped in Mystery

Deep and cold Lake Hallstättersee boasts some top fishing, scuba diving and kayaking – as well as being shrouded in mystery. This World Heritage Site area is home to a curious Celtic man discovered by miners in 1734 nearly perfectly preserved in salt, as well as a fascinating prehistoric graveyard dating from 850 - 500 B.C. For sports lovers, there is plenty of mountain biking, hiking trails and climbing.

Nature’s Adventure Playground

Vorarlberg’s southernmost region of Montafon is one great outdoor fitness centre. With 500km of walking trails, 800km of off-road mountain biking trails graded for difficulty like ski runs, and the 4000 step “Stairway to Heaven” -- training base for the Austrian Ladies National Ski Team – this fitness paradise will literally take your breath away.

Walking in the Sky

The high-altitude Eagle’s Walk is spectacular, but also very approachable. A pan-Tirolean trail, it invites you to sample the region’s mountains in a few days or feast on the whole 280km extravaganza. Alternative routes mean that experts and leisure hikers alike can experience its views and unique mountain huts. Run by locals and mountain guides this is your base to dig a bit deeper.

Cattle Drive & Village Fair

The farmer´s market with cattle procession and parish fair is the most important festival of the year in Reith. In 1761 Haydn made a lucky career move: he entered the services of the rich Esterházy family in Eisenstadt.

A Star in Great Britain

In 1790 Prince Nikolaus I. died. His successor showed no interest in music and within a few days disbanded the orchestra and choir and granted Haydn an annual pension.

Move to Vienna and World Renown

Haydn was laid to rest in Vienna where his last public appearance took place. One of the guests: Ludwig van Beethoven.
