The celebrated Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn
promises the big-time snowy fun you’d expect from the world’s second largest ski resort (based on average annual skiing visitors; April 2014 report by Laurent Vanat, Geneva).
Cool snowboarder? Tiny tot? Trick-loving free rider? Big carving turns specialist? The Skicircus is for you! With 270km of seemingly endless slopes groomed by 60 snowcats and served by 70 modern cable cars, and 90% of pistes covered by snowmaking facilities, the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is one of the Alps’ most snow sure winter holiday destinations.
Huge investments in infrastructure and guest facilities mean there’s always something new. Set to open December 2015 is a new 10-seater gondola – with a capacity of 2600 guests an hour – linking the Skicircus with the Fieberbrunn ski area
and boosting the amount of pistes by 20%. This means that from the coming winter season 2015/16 the expanded Skicircus will have 270 km of pistes and 70 lifts
, making it not only the largest interconnected
, but also one of the most varied ski areas in Austria
. The new connection uniquely links the provinces of Tirol and Salzburg
and skiers can ski across the ‘borders’ of the two regions via the 3.5km long Vierstadlalm slope. Both sides of the link bring with them their individual strengths, offering an unbeatable range
The present Skicircus is especially enticing thanks to the expansiveness of its ski area with it perfectly prepared pistes and World Cup runs, snow parks, skimovie, speed and race slopes, floodlit pistes, and snow trails, as well as an unparalleled provision of Alpine huts and the best in après-ski. Fieberbrunn is well known for its extensive freeride area that has been internationally renowned for many years.
On the exhilarating menu for teenagers and those young at heart, there’s a boarder and skicross park
at the new Bernkogel 6-seater cable car, floodlit slopes, race and speed slopes, toboggan runs, and the Flying Fox XXL
in Leogang, that, at over 80mph, is one of the fastest steel zip wire slides in the world.
There’s a ‘SkiMovie’ race slope
at the Unterschwarzachbahn in Hinterglemm (see yourself racing down the slope by entering your ski pass number online), and another ‘SkiMovie’ race slope reached from the Almbahn quad chair in Leogang. The speed slopes
are at the U-Bahn in Hinterglemm and at the Asitzgipfelbahn in Leogang. Plus, just look at the choices for park lovers – there’s the Nitro Snowpark
at the Asitzmuldenbahn in Leogang, the Easy Park at the Zillstadt t-bar lift, the Learn to Ride Park
at the Bernkogelbahn in Saalbach and the floodlit NIGHTPARK
at the Unterschwarzachbahn in Hinterglemm. And, new for the upcoming season – 5 Natural Freeride Parks
. Come perfect that new trick!
And, when the sun goes down, the floodlights come on – the U-Bahn Snowpark
, with tubing slopes is open into the evenings from Monday till Saturday, as is the Schanteilift in Leogang on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. So feast your eyes – and your skis and boards – on pistes that stretch as far as the eye can see: from gentle slopes to wide carving runs or the black World Cup descent. And the Skicircus doesn’t end there. The resorts are also famous for their 60 cosy huts and their pulsating après ski scene.
