IceQ Design Restaurant in Sölden
Located at the top of the Gaislachkogel at 3048m, the innovative design restaurant IceQ opened in Sölden at the start of the ski season 2013/14. A testiment to modern architecture, the glass exterior projects a transparent feeling that makes visitors feel up close and personal with the spectacular mountain scenery. The technical masterpiece goes one step further, as the roof terrace is connected to the Gaislachkogel mountain peak via a suspension bridge. The stylish high-end restaurant is a gourmet experience, taking Austrian cuisine to new heights. A special highlight is the signature wine ‘Pino3000’, a cross-border wine project, seeing three top wine growers bring their best Pinot Noir from Austria, South Tyrol and Germany to be matured in a special wine cellar at the Gaislachkogel.

A holiday in the Grossglockner resort of Kals/Matrei is invariably a superlative mountain holiday. In winter, the region boasts more than 110 km of ski runs (East Tirol’s largest ski area), and in summer National Park Hohe Tauern (Central Europe’s largest national park) invites you to hike and mountain bike through adventure worlds and trails of alpine traditions. The Adler Lounge is enthroned at about 2500m altitude, right by the cable car station. In blissfully quiet, comfortable all-glass cabins you float from Kals to the heights.
