Hotel Klinglhuber, Krems
The construction of Hotel Klinglhuber
was awarded the “State Prize for Tourism and Architecture 1996”
and is fascinating for several reasons. The ground floor is moved to the back and the upper floors jut out. In addition, each room has a protruding bay window which leads to an unusual partition of the façade. The top floor is moved to the back and features protruding terraces. The ground floor accommodates the reception, the seminar rooms, a bar and a breakfast room which merges with the courtyard. The décor was designed by the same architects and is dominated by light birch wood. The bathrooms feature glass panels which allow natural daylight to flood in.
Berghotel Tulbingerkogel, Mauerbach bei Wien
The team of Archisphere was commissioned to revamp the seminar rooms, the wellness area and the façade of Berghotel Tulbingerkogel
which was built in 1930, and to design six rooms “with a view”
. And they did a great job. When the exterior "tree wallpaper" blinds are lowered the hotel turns into a replica of the forest which surrounds it, heightened by the balcony balustrade made from untreated acacia wood which has gradually taken on the grayish colour of the beech trees. The dominating theme for the rooms is a view of Schneeberg Mountain
. They are minimalistically decorated and boast a 6m long glass front facing south with the bathroom separated from the main room by a glass wall.
LOISIUM Wine & Spa Resort, Langenlois
Ultra-modern architecture and exceptional wellness facilities in Austria’s famous wine country
. This is a winning concept, as the LOISIUM Wine & Spa Resorts
demonstrate. The 82 rooms of the LOISIUM Langenlois in Lower Austria
float above the glass ground floor. Naturally, they also feature many wine symbols. Lamps in cork shapes, aisles in the typical colours of wine and a breathtaking vista
await guests. And naturally, the rooms reflect the design focus: Beside the Wittmann furniture, each room houses the paintings of a different artist.
