At the Top of Tirol

The spectacular summit platform protrudes from the Stubai Glacier at an altitude of 3200m. It not only renders an unlimited view of the eternal ice and the 103 peaks of the Stubai mountain world, but also invites guests for a rest after a glacier hike at the Jochdohle - Austria's highest situated mountain restaurant.

The summit platform towers 6m above the precipice. The grandiose 360 degree panorama extends from the Zill Valley and Stubai Alps to the Dolomites and Limestone Alps. After a construction time of several weeks, the panorama pulpit was completed in the beginning of September 2008. The steel construction was anchored in the rock about 100m from the top station of the Schaufeljoch cable car, with an equally impressive path leading to it.

The Stubai Glacier, only an hour away from Innsbruck by car, offers its visitors plenty of winter activities, ranging from cross-country skiing to winter hiking.  Modern cable cars and lift facilities bring hikers to over 3000m above sea level and no matter whether families or experienced high-alpinists - everyone will find a suitable route or tour on the Stubai Glacier.
