Reach the top and gaze across at the amazing view. Or close your eyes and feel the winter sun on your skin. In Tirol’s Wilder Kaiser holiday region, with its four villages Söll, Ellmau, Going and Scheffau, you can feel the freedom as you pause to enjoy the tranquillity, or tear down the slopes in Austria’s largest interconnected ski area.

Simply put, SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental consists of 90 modern cable cars and lifts, 279km of slope, 70 cosy ski huts and almost eight kilometres of floodlit toboggan runs. Expertly trained ski instructors at 13 ski schools in the Wilder Kaiser region make sure everyone gets off to a safe start. A dozen practice lifts are available for beginners - and that’s just in numbers. Defining this region with an almost magical force of attraction, the Wilder Kaiser is a majestic mountain that lives up to its name: the Wild Emperor.

This mountain world is a million miles away from winter in the city, yet closer than you would think. With its convenient location, the Wilder Kaiser region is within one hour from the airports of Innsbruck, Salzburg and Munich and will be served by a regular shuttle service from Kufstein station from 1st December 2013. If you are looking for a sustainable journey all the way, Snowcarbon rail travel service provides details about direct and very comfortable train journeys from London to Söll:

Special family ski weeks – free skiing for children under 15!
SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser–Brixental is not only the largest ski resort in Austria, it is also extremely family-friendly. As part of the Family Ski Weeks, from the beginning of the winter season until 20th December and from 15th - 30th March 2014, children under 15 can use all 91 ski lifts and all 279 kilometres of ski runs free of charge on the condition that they are accompanied by a parent with a ski pass valid for at least three days.
