Arthotel blaue gans

Formerly the Getreidegasse was the only way through Salzburg. That’s the reason why the blaue gans is the oldest inn in town, over 660 years at this very location. And for many centuries people met at the inn’s restaurant to do business, exchange ideas or to celebrate. Here the wood-paneled “vault” in the restaurant exudes an intimate coziness and the dining rooms make both locals and guests feel welcome.

The blaue gans succeeds with its mix of historic settings and contemporary art and design elements. The kitchen maintains a concept of "new simplicity", unpretentious and of high quality. On the menu: only natural and regionally grown produce that is in season. No wonder then that the blaue gans is well known classic Austrian dishes, such as prime boiled beef, and delicious desserts, such as apricot dumplings.

In the bar next door you will find more contemporary design, a great place to start or finish a fun night out!  In summer, the hotel’s garden is an oasis where you can sip your favorite drink among olive and fig trees.
