Constructed in the 13th century, the palace was acquired by the Hungarian Esterházy family in 1622 and has been a prominent fixture in the region ever since. You can tour the palace and learn about the family’s history as well as their celebrated vineyards and vast holdings. The palace’s most famous room is the Haydn Hall named after the family court composer Joseph Haydn. Today, the palace hosts outstanding exhibitions and some of the best classical music performances around.
