Goldener Hirsch: 600 Years of Hospitality

The Hotel Goldener Hirsch is an oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Mozart’s home town. The house, which would later become the Goldener Hirsch (“Golden Stag”), was first documented in 1407, 350 years before W.A. Mozart was born!

It was Countess Harriet of Walderdorff, who restored the house with antique farmers’ furniture and thus laid the ground stone to the popular Salzburger country house style. And still, the unique “beautique” hotel in the middle of Salzburg has its own concept: traditional costumes instead of uniforms, linen instead of damask, painted chests and farmhouse interior instead of designer furniture. You are welcomed at the ancient entrance door that bears testimony of a long and prosperous tradition.
