Opera Festival Jennersdorf

The Opera Festival Jennersdorf has established itself as one of Europe’s best small opera festivals.  In 2012, Albert Lortzing's “Der Wildschuetz” will be performed in the inner court of Tabor Castle in the town of Neuhaus am Klausenbach. Performances will take place during the first two weeks of August and it’s best to reserve your ticket in advance. Each year some of the Europe’s top opera singers come to perform at Tabor Castle, which lies idyllically in southern Burgenland in the so called “3-countries-triangle” of Austria, Hungary and Slowenia.

The festival owes its success mainly to its Artistic Director, Dietmar Kerschbaum, who – despite his international success – has always been loyal to his home country and always demanded high quality for his festival. Spend the night in the romantic Hotel Das Eisenberg, with its own “Uhudler-vineyard” and house cellar, where you get to taste high quality wines from the Burgenland, Styria, Slowenia and Hungary.
