Smell the fresh air cycling along the Salzach river. Rent a bike or an electric “movelo” and discover a world heritage city with a specially trained tour guide who offers you an insight in the great history of Salzburg.
Salzburg is rated the most bike-friendly town in Austria with 100 miles of cycling paths. Follow the Old Town’s riverbank for a most romantic tour on both sides along the Salzach river to the scenic villages north and south of town, or aim for Hellbrunn Palace with its famous trick fountains. And for the more serious cyclists, take advantage of an amazing cycling trail network in the region. The Tauern Bike Path (110 miles ) that leads from Oberndorf along the Salzach to Hallein, Golling or Krimml; the Mozart Bike Path is 290 miles long and winds through the province of Salzburg and Bavaria. The Salzkammergut Bike Trail offers picturesque views of 13 lakes over a distance of 215 miles.
