Be a Winemaker for a Year

Under this motto, Purbacher Winemakers offer wine aficionados the unique opportunity to rent your own grapevines in prime locations of the Purbacher vineyards, in the heart of the Burgenland region. Together with award winning winemakers take part in the individual working steps in the vineyard, theoretically and practically, as well as in the winemaking process in the wine cellar. Learn from experienced winemakers on-site which factors, besides natural conditions, are important for producing excellent wines.

We invite you – six times a year (always Saturday 2pm-7pm) - to either contribute at the vineyard or at the wine press in the cellar while being taught by winemakers. Every hobby winemaker takes care of their own grapevines. Afterwards, enjoy a tasting where you learn about the theory of winemaking in an easy way. The finale of this experience will be the bottling of your own wine (approx. 100 bottles) - with your personal label attached. We choose the best vineyards and the best winemakers to meet highest standards of quality for your wine. Our focus lies on red wine (to one third each we produce red classic, red barrel fermented and white). In addition, you can rent space in our wine cellar which provides optimal conditions for the proper maturing of your wine.
