At the beginning there was just the desire to make a contribution to maintaining an intact environment. But during the renovation process, owner Michaela Reitterer realized that she could turn this venerable hotel into a model for sustainable tourism. In making this dream come true, she provides proof that being environmentally friendly must in no way mean giving up any degree of convenience, design, or creature comforts.

Thanks to the photovoltaic panels, the ingenious irrigation system for the garden and rooftop lavender field, the passive-house construction, and many other subtleties, the Boutique Hotel Stadthalle is able to produce more electricity than it consumes.
