World and Austrian premieres of works by internationally renowned choreographers, and performances by ensembles from Spain, the Netherlands, France, China, numerous African countries, and Austria introduce audiences to contemporary dance in all its manifold expressive forms. Bregenz Spring is now regarded as one of the most important dance festivals in the German-speaking world. Especially acclaimed events of the past have included performances by the Compañía María Pagés – one of the world’s leading flamenco ensembles – the Nederlands Dans Theater II, and the Flemish/Moroccan choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.
