This small twelve-room hotel, perched on a woody hillock, astounds guests with a stunning view of the Danube Valley near the twist in the river known as the “Schlögener Schlinge”. And in the evening, when the Falkner family serves the gourmet organic dinner created especially for the hotel guests, accompanied by outstanding Austrian wines, one realizes that one has found the perfect holiday spot. Whether one decides to stroll along the new Danube Hiking Path or explore Upper Austria’s Mühlviertel region in a different way, Mrs. Falkner has just the right recommendations for every guest. If one needs even more ideas, the hotel is equipped with its own house library, filled with books devoted to the attractions of the region. The hotel has been run by the Falkner family for five generations now and can look back on a long history: as early as the Middle Ages this was the site of the hunting lodge of nearby Marsbach Castle, which later became the location of the castle tavern before it was turned into a hotel.

Today it is simply a wonderful spot to relax, and occasionally the hotel also offers outstanding Pilates, Feldenkrais and Qi Gong workshops. There are even eight golf courses within a forty-five-minute drive.
